Truly, all I want for Christmas is to be not sleeping in the living room.
And, I might just get my wish – our room is almost done!
The renovation of our 1886 gem ~ Bringing Back an American Beauty ~ is going really well.
Lots of stuff you can’t see, like under the house pipes & in the wall electrical have been taken care of and decisions on the overall design have been finalized.
Sharing today some of the bits you can see ~ the BEFORES & DURINGS. No big “reveal” yet, but soon.
I can see the chandeliers at the end of the tunnel, so to speak.
We’ll get there, for now we are slogging thru the dust & dirt and take out dinners.
I have had my fill of pizza and felt that way when the delivery guy showed up the other night.
He was new & wearing a Santa hat.
I, covered in plaster dust, kinda wasn’t in the mood for Christmas accessories or pizza, again. Not amused by the hat in late November and thinking, is everyone ready for Christmas except me, I opened the door.
As soon as I did, he said, “this house is sick!! ” ( you know, the good sick ). We proceeded to have a lively chat about the house he was helping his dad renovate and the virtues of real gas lanterns for the porch.
You just never know who is going to give you that little boost you need, when you need it most.
Thanks Pizza Elf! I was tired and needed to see through the dust to the “sickness” of my house!
Even the pizza tasted better that night.
Hope you enjoyed seeing a few Befores & Durings, and I hope…
I really do hope, that sometime, someday my little blog gives you that boost you need when you need it.
