As much as I adore puttering around ‘my soulful home’ sometimes a day trip is in order. Especially one during which I might score some fabulously vintage, and oh so ‘needed’, items for the homestead. Recently Cheryl, of FreshvanillaforC, and I took such a trip. We didn’t go far, just the other side of LA ~ the westside.
Living here for 8 years, LA is still full of surprises and ripe for exploring for me. It is so unlike NYC in it’s vastness. As I want to embrace & know all of my new-ish city, I enjoy these excursions on many levels.

Vignette at Vintage Weave
Rolling Greens is a destination shop for unique finds for the garden & home. There are three location in and around Los Angeles. We visited the one on Beverly Blvd., which is housed in an former tire shop complete with exposed brick, high ceilings and concrete floors. The wares flow seamlessly inside & out and into two smaller rooms. Exploring is such a delight. Here is a bit of what we enjoyed seeing…
I bought a few little things & something I have been searching for…a charmingly aged chandelier for our breakfast room!!!! I was very excited to find it, can you tell? I spotted it hanging from the extremely high ceiling. It was way up & plugged in, so I couldn’t get a good shot of it in the shop. The really nice girls who work there had to call someone to come take it down. Oh, and did I mention it was 40% off… be still my beating heart!
As Vintage Weave is not open to the public everyday (clients and designers on certain days) getting inside to feel the nubby linens, smell the lavender and gasp at the rusty patina’ed wonderful-ness has been a challenge, but we made it! Well worth the effort & extra planning.
Vintage Weave, a “French Farmhouse Lifestyle & Antique Boutique” is owned and operated by Kathy Delgado. The shop has devoted celebrity shoppers as well as at least 2 bloggers (Cheryl & I!) If French Farmhouse is your look you will want to move right in! Here is some more of what we saw, loved & bought…
This is the entrance ~ we started to get sweaty & a little dizzy with the abundance right away! After covering the whole store Cheryl honed in on one of those rustic crates…
I nabbed three of the striped Dash & Albert outdoor pillows in green for my patio (and they were on sale too!)
Although swooning over all the goodies at Vintage Weave, I resisted the temptation to lay down for a moment, as we had to zip back to Rolling Greens to pick up the chandelier. The friendly RGs staff had it all packed up when we arrived. In a flash we were on the freeway, making it back across town for school pick up in the nick of time!
Do you have a favorite day trip in your area that you’d like to share? Come on, we won’t go buy up all the treasures I promise…do tell!
