As you know we have moved and are undergoing a major renovation. Inside, outside, upstairs and down. It is going really well and I am sharing the whole process. The only real challenge is cooking.
You see the renovation began with the total demolition of the kitchen. I know, pretty drastic, but it had to go!
As much as I wanted the demo straight away, it is a bit of a challenge to feed a family with only a microwave & dorm sized fridge.
Take out is an option, but my gang is used to homemade meals. And there is just so much pizza one can eat.
By a struck of luck, I was asked to try out Marie Callender’s frozen pies.
I hadn’t ever bought Marie’s pies before, but the timing couldn’t have been better, as we had a birthday just as the renovation began.
I chose the Chocolate Satin Pie
And let me tell you, it is delicious! A definite crowd pleaser.
Marie Callender’s Chocolate Satin Pie has a homemade chocolate crust, a pudding filing made from scratch and is topped with real chocolate curls.
The taste & quality are just like homemade.
My daughter even asked how I made the pie with no kitchen!
Sometimes you can’t or just don’t have the time to prepare a home cooked meal, let alone a dessert.
It is good to know that Marie Callender is at your local market with the quality you would serve your family if you did have the time ~ and a kitchen!
We enjoyed the pie so much that I picked up some Marie Callender meals to tide us over until the appliances arrive. Even when the kitchen is completed, I think I will have a few Maries in the freezer as insurance of homemade when I can’t make it myself.
