If there is a season for all things, then my house has a season. It is autumn.
I am drawn to the warm colors of autumn all year round and orange simply makes me happy. Throughout my house each room features these colors to one degree or another.
It is a very cozy house & a sturdy one, withstanding its share of earthquakes since 1935. It would have been the house built by the third little pig. (the smart one!)
Since my house is in ‘season’ right now…I wanted to show you around a bit.
This orange biscuit jar is from Etsy & I love it. I keep it on the table in the foyer so I can see it throughout the day. Also, the GS book comes in handy…you never know when you need to make a lanyard or start a fire with a rock. Ok, I just love vintage GS stuff and the color works!
White pumpkins, a sachet of lavender & some sunflowers in a cream white pitcher round out the vignette on the foyer table.
Making our way to the living room…more orange & yellow. I have used an old yellow frame to corral a vignette on the coffee table. See that pillow in the background. I have used that fabric throughout the first floor of the house. It has all the colors I love & has a crewelwork look which I like a lot.
I have used the fabric on parsons chairs in the dining room, pillows in the living room, pillows & the window seat in the family room. It helps to unify all the rooms & adds to the flow.
This is one side of the family room book shelves. See what I mean about the colors of autumn painting my whole house. Gold, green, red, & orange everywhere you turn.
Found this piece in a box at an estate sale…it has a “K” etched on it ~ for .50 cents it was mine!
Ok, time for me to get outside & decorate my entry way for an upcoming blog tour. It will be a good one, so come on back to check it out…
It was fun to show you around. Thanks for visiting. Tell me, what ‘season’ is your house?
