Thrilled to be sharing the second post in my Soul Sister Series.
Please meet Lesa Wallace, the artist & CEO of The Giving Bracelets.
I met Lesa on the beyond beautiful island of Maui ~ where she made me the loveliest bracelet & told me the story of her company.
We starting chatting at her booth during a craft fair. You know when you just feel like someone is a kindred spirit.
I asked about the name of her company. When she told me the reason behind the name & what she was up to (no, she isn’t a deer whisperer ) I knew I had to share her with you…
Have a look, then read on for Lesa’s responses to my questions and a chance to enter to win one of her signature designs.
More from Lesa…
1. Why do you create what you do?
I created the Giving Bracelets because I wanted to find a way to continuing donating money to my favorite charity, CASA for Children. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children.
CASA recruits, trains and supports citizen-volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children.
Volunteer advocates—empowered by the courts—offer judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care. These advocates are often the only sustained adult relationship these children have.
I give 10% of the profits from the sales of The Giving Bracelets directly to this organization to support the program & mentorship of the children.
2. What inspires you the most?
I find inspiration in my company & its mission. Creating a business that gives back opened my eyes to the lives you can impact in a positive way. This realization continues to inspire to me to press on through the difficult times.
3. How did you get started as an artist?
I would say I started at a very early age. I used to take my sisters hand me downs and remake them into dresses, tops and skirts. I guess I have always been creating art in different forms.
4. Best piece of advice on life & how to live it?
To stay positive. Being positive attracts more positivity! (I told you I was sharing women who are positive forces in the universe! )
Follow Lesa thru the entry form below & you could be the winner of her signature design circle of love bracelet. (far right)
Thanks to Lesa for sharing herself & giving one of us a Giving Bracelet…Good luck! Of course, you are welcome to purchase any bracelets & know a portion of the cost will go to benefit a child in the CASA program.
I will leave you with a quote Lesa had on one of her Instagram photos…
It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.
