I am in the market for a summer tote bag.
Like a new bathing suit, a new bag is a summertime ritual for me. But I am really choosy when it comes to bags. (and definitely bathing suits! )
A perfect bag for me is well made, without someone else’s initials or logo. One I won’t see on other arms. Classic with a bit of pizazz.
I don’t shop in malls if I can avoid it. I crave handmade and like to support women craftspeople – so I hit Etsy first.
Here are my favorites from my summer tote bag search 2015:
Juneberry Stitches Hails from Montana. This striped linen, burlap market tote caught my eye.
The bag is fully lined, with large interior pockets, magnetic closure & leather strap $65.00
ikabags from Paris to you!
Large waterproof lined tote made of French canvas (repels lattes & red wine in particular I guess! ) Hefty bronze hardware, including a French key fob, adjustable strap and many pockets.
These quality bags have been made by the same family since 1952. $124.58
Independent Reign creates stunning sturdy bags in my home state of New York.
I have this bag and I LOVE it!
The workmanship ~ workwomanship ~ is top notch. The simple design & subtle shimmer to the fabric is just the look I love.
Classic with a twist ~ traditional with a bit of bling. Lined, interior zipper pocket, magnetic closure & leather strap. $142.00
I also love this bag from Independent Reign .
A bucket bag in textured woven jute with exterior pockets. The strap is leather & will age to a beautiful tan (wish I would!). The hardware is chunky & sturdy.
In fact, the bag is sturdy enough to comfortably hold a laptop, but stylish enough to use everyday. Since my lap top & I have a very close relationship this is a good thing! $149.00
MeryBradley bags are created in Santiago Chile. Loving the simplicity of this black waxed canvas tote.
With 6 pockets, a key fob and full lining this bag is great for work, play and everyday. $109.00
With all those terrific choices choosing a summer tote will be hard, but not as challenging as finding a bathing suit!
What is it with bathing suits in dressing rooms? They must look better on outside of those rooms – least that is what I tell myself!
This is not a sponsored post for tote bags ~ I just like supporting women creating beautiful things & wanted to share what I found with you!
