So there was a knock at my door about 10 months ago…
The knocker, a stunning blonde woman, said she had been watching the transformation of the house & wanted to know who the designer was … as you all know, the designer is me.
When she learned that it was me, a lively conversation began on what was then, my decidedly “before” porch.
Turns out ~ you are not going to believe this … she lives in my favorite house, which I pass by daily with the doggies.
And get this, she is a famous Emmy winning soap opera star! No joke – Kayla from Days of Our Lives.
Off camera she is, Mary Beth Evans-Schwartz, my neighbor & now friend.
This is her beautiful house!
Mary Beth & I have so much in common. A love of old houses is just the start of our shared interests & passions.
She is a vivacious, fast talking, blogging, making things happen kind of girl and I am thrilled to call her friend!
That fateful knock & chat led most recently to a 3+ hour visit by Mary Beth & her wonderful videographer/editor Mandy.
Mandy is a kindred spirit too. Two new friends from one knock!
We had sooo much fun as I showed them around the inside of my 1886 Victorian Farmhouse.
Come on along as we look, talk & laugh:

And those pies ~ Years ago I was at a holiday boutique at a friends house & I bought several for Thanksgiving. Delicious! I wish Mary Beth still made them.
Who knew dial ahead about 11 years, that the busy baker would be making a video tour of my Victorian Farmhouse. Life is full of great surprises.
I hope you enjoyed the tour as much as I enjoyed having the ladies over to film it.
So here’s to knocking when the spirit moves you – it can lead to wonderful things – like new friends!
Thank you Mary Beth & Mandy!!
