This is my favorite photo I have taken so far with my new equipment.
Some of you have asked what I bought, so I will tell you.
A Cannon Rebel SL1 with a 18 – 55 mm lens, an additional 10 – 18 mm lens for room shots and the most awesome tripod! It extends to 7 feet, has a reversible center pole and swivels all around. Having so much fun learning & experimenting!
Well, some, like my girls, would say I am a bit obsessed with photography right now. Ava noted that I picked her up from school in the same outfit 3 days in a row. Observant & right she is…
I stayed up late learning & jumped out of bed ready to start shooting, so I grabbed whatever was on the chair in my bedroom. Today I changed ’cause it is Halloween!
Are you dressing up?
Here is a treat worthy of the occasion – Chocolate covered peanut butter pretzel cookies. A mouthful in more ways than one.
This cookie is comprised of delights from each of the four food groups: chocolate, salty, sweet & crunchy. Toss in a some antioxidants by enjoy a few with a glass of red wine.
If those cookies had a song, what do you think it would be? I think food has a sound track don’t you? So does chef Marcus Samuelsson. His new cookbook struck a cord with me, ’cause he includes a playlist for his recipes. Isn’t that clever?
Remember I was in England not too long ago. Well, I never shared with you the treasures (other than my life long memories) that I scored there.
One special piece found a spot on the bookcase I designed this week. Can you pick it out?
Yes, you are getting hot, it is on the 2nd shelf…a little to the right…yes hotter…
Very HOT! Guess what? It is a hot water bottle. The shop keeper told me, while welling up, that it was just like the one that her grandmother would tuck into her bed. I almost left it with her, but no way she had her chance ~ I had to have it!
Isn’t the top wonderful?
Off to make another batch of those decadent cookies. Hope you have a safe & fun filled Halloween!
