I have a friend who hurts me.
Truly, every time I see this woman, she causes me deep pain.
So why do I put up with this and keep coming back for more?
‘Cause she is helping me get stronger & healthier.
Soul Sister Series – Meet Sarah Lynn!
Meet Sarah Lynn my friend, my instructor, our Soul Sister for January – don’t be put off by the pain part!
Working out is not the half of it…getting fit and healthy involves more.
This is why Sarah Lynn started her business Fit-Fax.
I’m going to let her tell you more:
1. Why have you chosen to be in the fitness field?
I have a passion for empowering people to live stronger, healthier lives. Taking care of the physical body is the most important “homemaking” we do. Our body is our home…our vessel…our instrument.
2. Why did you start Fix Fax?
Because the scale only tells part of the truth. There is so much more to know about what is right for your body and how to optimize your health & strength.
3. What inspires you the most?
Honesty and transparency inspire me. Both translate into my business as the first step in any nutritional/wellness program is an honest & transparent analysis of where you are. I use a body composition machine that helps people face their numbers and their fears.
Being honest with yourself about what you put in your body and why is the first step in changing your health.
I am also inspired by women who learn to love themselves!
4. What would you call what you do?
I am a wellness engineer.
I have a B.S. in Biosystem Engineering and a M.S. in Intercultural Studies. I am also a teacher, sports nutritionist and a coach. If you wrap up all of these skills, I am a wellness engineer! I use science and psychology to help people meet their goals!
5. What is the most important thing women can do to get fit & be healthy?
The most important activity for women is resistance training.
This includes lifting anything challenging (including your own body weight). Nothing transforms the body like weight training. Done in conjunction with monitoring what you put in your mouth and you are well on your way!
6. Best piece of advice on how to live a consistently healthy lifestyle?
Small changes accumulate into transformation.
Start with small health changes that improve your quality of life. Pay attention to how these positive changes make you feel and build upon them. Know that you are living adaptable tissue and every day has a new dawn! Look forward not backwards and, stay away from FAD diets and quick fixes.
7. Give us your top three tips for wellness.
1. At least half of every meal should be vegetables.
2. Move everyday–lift heavy things at least 3x/week.
3. Keep your sugar intake under 40 grams/day!

And because she is not only super fit, smart & funny, but also generous, Sarah Lynn wants to share something with you.
