If you are coming over from Beth’s at Unskinny Boppy Welcome!
As many of you know my home is a Victorian farmhouse built in 1886. Hence the pillow – check it out HERE.
It is a toss up between the kitchen & the front porch as my favorite aspects of the house. You can see my fall kitchen HERE.
The porch squeaks ahead a bit in the competition, as I have alway wanted a big porch & because is just so much fun to decorate.
It is also a favorite perch of Emmett’s. As you can see he is quite comfortable out here.
Early Fall Front Porch Tour
The foundation pieces on my front porch don’t change. I simply swap out pillows, throws, create a new vignette and change the flowers.
I was looking for white mums, but these happy daisies caught my eye.
The pop of yellow in the center is joyful. I also like that when early fall turns to late fall, I can plant these perennials in my garden.
To accent the yellow center of the daisies, I slipped some craspedia blooms or drumstick flowers into my floral arrangement on the coffee table.
Do you know craspedia flowers? They are tender perennials that grow in zones 3 – 10. They kinda look like little xylophone mallets, don’t they?
The books I have mingled with the faux antlers, baby boos & feathers I pull out every year at this time. The titles & colors conjure up the fall.
If you like vintage books as decor, think not only of the size, spine color, but also how the titles work together.
This subtle nod to a season can be interesting in your decor.
I shopped my house for my early fall porch tour decor. Even the flowers were left over from –wait, did I tell you?…
Left over from American Farmhouse Style magazine’s visit here last week.
Yup, MSH is slated to be in the spring/summer 2018 issue. What a fun & exciting day it was here!
Well, Emmett is getting sleepy & the girls are about to return from school, so I am going to go inside and make a snack for them.
You should head over to my dear friend Shirley at Housepitality Designs as her house is next up on the tour.
Be sure to visit everyone on the tour ~ the links are below ~ including, of course, our organizer, the lovely Lidy of French Garden House. Thank you Lidy for a beautiful tour!
