Chalk Board Paint Valentine Jars
You know what today will be?
Today will be the day my girls start reading my blog...
Because I am sharing with you what I am making for them for Valentine's Day!!
Chalk Board Paint Valentine Jars
These little jars are an easy repurpose and filled with sweets ~ a perfect Valentine.
Make up a few for your sweeties, teachers or anyone you want to make feel special.
After Valentine's Day has past & the candies are gone, they can use the jar as a bud vase, pencil holder or save it for next February 14th.
This is what you need:
- clean jars
- chalk board paint
- sponge paint brush
- chalk
- decorations
- treats
This is what you need to do:
- paint the jars with 3 coats of chalk board paint
- while paint dries chose decorations
- wrap and tie ribbon, twine or string around the mouth
- tie on a notion or two
- season dry jars with chalk & wipe with a dry cloth
- use chalk or a chalk pen to write a message
- fill with treats
For my decorations, I used old keys to symbolize the "key to my heart" and pleather hearts salvaged from a belt I had in the 80's. Told you I am a magpie…I keep all sorts of bits & bobs in jars just in case I need them. And, see I always do!
I love that the keys say "DO NOT DUPLICATE" 'cause you can't duplicate the key to a heart!
First I attached the keys to the hearts with thread. Then tied onto the jar. Once in place, I wrapped suede cording around my jars & tied in a bit of baker's twine.
You could use any type of ribbon, felt hearts and any little charms or beads you have on hand.
This is a repurpose so try to make these Valentine Jars from what you have on hand. They are not from the store, but your heart after all!
Hmmm…well, I bet my girls will be surprised when they see these ~ and sharing nows gives you a chance to make a few.
