Let's Make Arrangements - neutral white pumpkin floral arrangements
No secret ~ I love creating floral arrangements.
It is like garden design but on speed.
You need to consider lots of the same things ~ color, texture, what's complimentary, what's the 'wow', what's the foundation.
Then put it all together ~ and, just like in the dirt, that is where the magic happens.
To my great pleasure people have taken note of my floral designs and I get asked to play with flowers for work sometimes.
Nice work indeed.
I had such a gig last weekend.
The only thing I don't love about working with flowers is the temporary nature of the art.
But maybe that is part of what makes it so special ~ beautiful, brief and beguiling ( love that word! )
Less temporary when you take lots of pics and share them on your blog.
So I did, and so I am.
I put these together outside on what is my new potting area.
This piece of gray granite was left behind by the previous owner and I used vintage gate posts, also left behind, to hold it up. Once I get it all set up like I imagine it, I will share the area with you.
Certainly nice to create the florals outside. I could get messy & clean up was easy!
I snapped a few pics before I moved the trio inside for their official 'photo shoot'. Then drove them ever so slowly ( no water slushing about in the car ) to the event.
Neutral White Pumpkin Floral Arrangements
Interested in knowing how to makes these neutral white pumpkin floral arrangements ~ read on and Pin for later.
What you need:
- pumpkin(s)
- chalk paint spray paint ( an answer to a silent prayer of mine )
- jar(s)
- pebbles or floral stones
- flowers
- Cat tails, faux leaves &/or any fall embellishments
What you need to do:
- spray paint pumpkins white
- cut top off pumpkins making a hole the size of your jar
- remove seeds & hollow out a bit
- test hole to make sure jar fits snuggly
- fill jar 1/4 way with pebbles & insert
- fill jar 1/2 with water
- flowers should be in a container of water with freshly clipped stems while you do the above
- Now start designing - don't cut stems until you have a plan
- play around & try different combinations until you love it
- stand back & admire!
A few extra things I did with this trio were to spray paint the faux leaves & some fresh ivy I clipped from my garden gold.
The leaves added shimmer up high and the ivy & the Spanish moss softened the look.
The moss also helped hide the lip of the jars.
