Ten minute Decorating - Flowers

There is speed dialing, speed dating ... now speed decorating!

Once a month or so I will be sharing a quick - 10 minutes or less - decorating idea.

I am teaming up with some of the best bloggers in the business to bring you these ideas so make sure to read to the end to see all their quick decorating inspiration.

This month of May the theme of Ten Minute Decorating is flowers ~ perfect!

Ten Minute Decorating with Flowers

To quickly get the most impact from a small bunch of blooms use 3 small vases.  A vase can be anything that holds water.

Shop your shelves, cupboards & closets for three 'vases' of varying heights.  If you have 2 of the same height, as I do, use different sized flowers & greens to stagger the height.

I love using tarnished silver pitchers and sugar bowls.

As you know you can pick them up for under a dollar at thrift stores & yard sales.  But did you know, the tarnish that gets into the details of silver is also referred to as "french grey".  Bow to the power of words - isn't "french grey" so much better than "tarnish"?

Ok, got your vases?

Now grab a clipper or scissors & go outside.  Clip flowers, buds & greens.

Clip a bit more then you think you need.  No time to head back out we are being timed!

Fill vases with water and start arranging.

Fill each vase with different flowers, varying the height of each little arrangement. Unify the three arrangements with color or with one type of flower/green tucked in each of the three.

I like to have one BIG flower in the mid sized vase.  The hydrangea is perfect!

Corralling the three vases on a tray provides even more impact.

Lone bud vases are darling, but don't have the pow of this kind of grouping.

Trio of Little Vases filled with Flowers = Big Impact in No Time

My trio of arrangements, from clipping to being photo ready, took under ten minutes.

Ten minutes spent this way results in many more moments of joy.  Each time I walk thru the dining room these make me smile.

Even if you only have greens in your garden this works beautifully.
