Tote Wreath for Spring - tutorial
There really is no rule...
that a wreath has to be round.
You are used to me thinking out of the box. ( or ...what can I do with the box?)
So not surprising that my Spring wreath is not a circle.
It is a tote bag.
Want to learn how to make a tote bag into a "wreath"?
I knew you did...
How to make a tote bag wreath
What you need:
- a tote bag
- styrofoam square
- faux flowers
- willowy branches
- polyfoam filler
- moss
What you need to do:
- slide styrofoam into tote - cut with a serrated knife if needed
- tuck in polyfoam to fill our bottom & sides of bag - no lumps!
- Cut faux flower stems to right length
- push main stem into styrofoam
- add branches & other flowers
- tuck in more polyfoam
- top with moss
- hang
I like things loose & wispy, so I included willow branches & delicate stems. But any style can work with a tote wreath.
( Isn't this tote darling? ~ $5.99 and there were other styles & matching zipped cases! )
Pick flowers & colors you love.
I can imagine a tight bouquet of faux Gerber Daisies popping out of a colored tote or dried flowers in a white linen tote.
Wreaths are a lovely way to say welcome and to celebrate the seasons. Do you know the history of wreaths? No? Well read here. If you hang one you are upholding an ancient tradition.
My tote wreath was easy, fast & inexpensive ~ and I love it!
