Wallpaper Ideas - ready to commit

If choosing a paint color is daunting...

delving into the world of wallpaper is overwhelming with a capital OVER.

You can casually date a paint, but getting involved with a wallpaper is a commitment.

So let me help.

Today I'll introduce you to some companies, new &  familiar, that create & sell wallpaper.

I am also sharing some papers I am honing in on for my big project.  Swatches have been ordered, so stay tuned for more on these choices

Here are some companies and wallpapers I am digging.  Let me know what you think...

Wallpaper Manufacturers

Barneby Gates:

Love the quality & whimsy of the papers designed by the duo of Vanessa Barneby and Alice Gates at Barneby Gates.

Using traditional printing techniques at one of the few remaining print works in the English Midlands, this team creates papers with a quintessential English feel.

They take classic ideas & give them a contemporary twist. Love that!

I am all abuzz about Barneby & Gates Honey Bees wallpaper.  I plan to side it into 2 long narrow framed panels for the entry or use it in a powder room.

York Wall Coverings:

York Wall Coverings is a venerable firm which has produced beautiful wallpapers since 1895 from the same factory in the Susquehanna Valley of Pennsylvania.   This making York the oldest & largest wall covering manufacturer in the United States.

York still operates 100 year old surface presses which produce a beautiful painterly effect that cannot be conjured from modern machinery.

My favorite York paper is this raised print of bellflowers & leaves.  It is a damask of gleaming bronze on white from their St. Augustine Collection.

Ralph Lauren Home:

I have a torn page depicting this room from a far back issue of House Beautiful. It is pinned to two of my Pinterest boards as well.

The whole look of this room appeals to me immensely.  Particularly the wall paper.  It is called Ashfield Floral.

Although it is very feminine the black tones that down enough so as to make it work in almost any room.

It does look to have a much whiter background in the room photo as opposed to the on line sample, so I am curious how the swatch will look. Hope it is lighter.

That is what I have come up with so far on my quest to add the perfect wallpapers to my next project.  As one can get distracted while even while on a quest...

I happened upon this bee pillow from Barneby Gates.  Well, it was right there near the bee wall paper, I could hardly miss it or pass it up.  Of course, it is a must have!!

bHome headquarters needs several of these!

Let me know what you think of my choices thus far.

When the swatches arrive we can have a look together and talk about how to narrow all the choices in the world of wallpaper.

Here's to making a commitment!
