Wine Gift Bag ~ using webbing
Hostess gifts are tricky.Flowers are troublesome 'cause the host has to do something with them right away.Food is difficult as the menu has been planned & the host will feel they must put it out. This is why I think you can never go wrong bringing wine. ( actually, I think there is never anything wrong with wine! )Wine can be opened or not for the get together, used another time or even, dare I say, re-gifted.The thing is, you don't want to show up with simply a bottle of wine unwrapped. (unless of of course it is very good wine & you want to show off the label!)Wrapping your vino says you care! Here is a stylishly way to create a wine gift bag without much effort.Take two lengths of webbing ( I ADORE webbing ) 32 inches long.Cross them in the middle to form a plus sign. Make sure there is an even amount on all 4 sides of the +.Hot glue the lengths of webbing together at the +.When glue is dry place your done bottle over the crossed webbing & bring up the sidesTie with a ribbon, piece of twine or any other do-dad you'd like. (You are going to crack up - guess what I used? The ribbon from a Anthropology shopping bag!) Ta dah! A wine gift bag from webbing & random notions!Mine has a patriotic look as I am going to give it at a 4th of July bbq. I love how the top flares out like a sparkler!I added a gift tag to work in the blue of "red, white & blue" and to let my host know who brought this fab re-usable wine bag!Webbing is so versatile, you could make up a few & put them away for when you need to snazz up a bottle. For Thanksgiving use twine & a sprig of berries. For Christmas a red ribbon & a cutting of pine or rosemary. So festive & the perfect hostess gift in my opinion. What are some terrific hostess gifts you have received or given?** Kelly **
