You remember Cecilia, don’t you?
Cecilia, whom I was able to get to know thru her decor, treasures, letters and wardrobe.
Cecilia, whose house is now for sale & whose things have been dispersed to many who appreciate things with a past.
Cecilia, who loved Christmas, judging by the number of boxes, bins & decorations for sale at her estate sale.
Oh yes, Cecilia must have bedecked that big center hall colonial of hers with a dazzling Christmas display!
As I told you when I first introduced you to Cecilia, seeing her Christmas collection made me swoon.
Like a crazed elf, I began dragging the cartons labeled Christmas off to the side of the driveway.
I asked for help from the estate sale staff and was handed a dollie cart.
Three dollie trips later, I had Cecilia’s collection of Shiny Brite Ornaments & more safely in my car.
The mother load of Shiny Brites lay quietly in those cartons.
In my zeal to amass as much of Cecilia’s collection as possible, I didn’t stop to count or look in the boxes. I trusted her handwritten labels “red”, “pink” “gold” “blue” “silver”.
In total 27 boxes of Shiny Brites and many lose carefully wrapped in disintegrating tissue paper.
Oh Holy Night – thank you Cecilia!!
Now I would be a grinch if I didn’t share a bit of Cecilia’s collection with you…
