We are so excited to be sharing with our listeners and readers a few of our favorite small shops. All of which happen to be owned and operated by some fabulous ladies.
When I say “we”, I mean Anita, Yvonne & I, of course! We first introduced these shops to our podcast listeners and are now following up on our blogs.
Shopping Small and Giving BIG is important to us on many levels, such as supporting entrepreneurs, giving unique wonderful gifts and seeking out the real treasures amidst all the stuff out in the world.
We want our listeners & readers alike to have an opportunity to see the wonderful items we talked about and to have a chance to click right on through to the shops. This will give you all the opportunity to Shop Small & Give BIG this holiday season.
Everyone loves a unique, well made gift given from the heart. The following shops help you gather and gift just that.

French Garden House has stunning antiques, fine linens and so much more. FGH is so well curated that each & every item is truly a treasure.
One of the beautiful linen items offered at French Garden House is the embroidered crest linen napkins.
I am thrilled to have them grace my table this year.

Edith and Evelyn Vintage
When you are looking for a statement piece, even a diminutive one, head over to Edith and Evelyn Vintage.

We are absolutely in LOVE with the lamb that Cindy sent to us. The crown is fabulous & removable for less important ocassions!
When you see the array of velvet pumpkins, acorns & even mushrooms offered by Monya at Plush Pumpkin you will want to dive into the patch!
Luscious is a word that comes to mind when I look at Monya’s website.
I am greeted with a trio of Plush Pumpkins and acorns every time I walk thru my dining room.
Loving my transitional tablescape so much it is still gracing my dining table. I can’t/won’t put these pumpkins away!
Check out the real stems!!
Lavender Road Antitques
Karre had me at her handmade collection of grain sack stockings, but the other 300+ items she has in her Etsy shop kept me there for a looong time. So many wonderful vintage treasures at very reasonable prices.
I added my grain sack stocking to a live wreath. I think I will add a few red shiny brites for real vintage charm.
Visit Lavender Road Antiques – you’ll find so many things to love.
Talk about things to love & support – how about natural soy candles made by a special group of people.
This candle is made by the clients of Summer House Houston.
Summer House is a day program that supports people with intellectual disabilities.
Anita’s daughter, Elise, goes there everyday.
Along with all they do at Summer House, such as volunteer in the community, go for coffee, out to restaurants, visit the zoo, do Zumba, and more, they have a shredding business where everyone works. ( I hear Elise is their #1 shredder! ) . They shred to help defray the cost of the program.
Summer House is hoping to expand and need funds to do that. This is where the candle making venture comes into play. They just starting making these dreamy candles.
Made from beeswax & essential oils and by the people, like Elise, who go to Summer House each day, these candles are a natural choice. They are only $20 each. If you’d like to help Summer House & the people who make the candles CLICK HERE to order one or a few as gifts.
I hope you enjoyed our podcast & blog on Shopping Small & Giving BIG!
Do let us know if you know of any specialty shops…
