Holiday Kitchen Tour
Now all of you come on in so I can show you around a bit more.
The other day I shared my Farmhouse Glam kitchen decked out for Christmas, but guess what, I held back a bunch a special photos to share with you today!
So get cozy, get comfy ~ Welcome to my home ... My Soulful Home!
As you can see my kitchen & kitchen tree are brimming with silver & gold ornaments.
Not just ornaments boxes & boxes of vintage Shiny Brites.
Honestly, I will never forget the day I unearthed them all at an estate sale.
Not only was it the largest collection of Shiny Brites I have ever seen in one place, but what I gleaned about the previous owner from spending time in her house made it unforgettable, at least for someone who adores things with a past.
Do some of you remember when I shared that story & Cecilia?
Remember or not, if you believe in the magic of things with a past have a read here.
These little plates have a past too - my Mom found them at an estate sale in Madison GA.
Madison is the most darling little town by the way and thanks for giving me these Mom!
Last year I didn't get to unpack Cecilia's treasures as the plaster dust was still flying here.
This year I did...
Two boxes big enough for me to hide in filled with Shiny Brites in all the colors. Labeled & carefully wrapped in wispy yellowed tissue paper.
Clusters of ornaments lovingly cinched together with pale pink pipe cleaner. Glittery delicate branches of silver & gold adorned with these clusters and others tied up with golden yellow ribbon.
I left each cluster intact and trimmed our platinum colored tree with every last silver & gold ornament.
All the while, I thought of the woman I conjured up in my head after spending hours in her home & with her things. It felt nice to be enjoying the special decorations she so obviously treasured.
I added the big pinecones & burlap ribbon to the tree and around the room for the rustic & bling mash up I love.
To my eye Cecilia's decorations in my kitchen are pretty spectacular ~ I hope she thinks so too...
