A Keeper and…A Give Away from Jillery!
Once in a while, if you are lucky, you meet a 'keeper'.
Long ago on a hot summer's day in Southampton NY. I was asked to join two girls at the beach.I didn't really know the girl who invited me and never met the other one, but who says no to a day at the beach?
Newly licensed off I drove ~ bikini on, tunes blasting to the beach.We laid down our towels with the girl I sorta knew in the middle. The girl I didn't know & I began talking.It felt like I did know her.
We continued talking over the girl I sorta knew. Not talking over her voice, talking over her laying on her towel. She eventually got up to chat with a lifeguard and there we sat talking.That was 33 years ago and the conversation has never ended.I found a "keeper" that summer's day. She knows all my secrets & I mean ALL of them. We have known each other's every roommate, boyfriend, dance move, lip gloss, parent issue, parenting issues, yard sale find….Story short ~ we have shared in the story of each other's lives for a long time. She is never far from my thoughts & forever in my heart. She is also the most creative & bravest person I have ever known.

Jill is an artist, an entrepreneur a business woman, a mom, a gardener and so much more. She designs and creates jewelry & housewares. "Jillery" is the name of her empire - isn't that clever! Clever & wildly successful!
Jillery came to life when Jill started started twisting aluminum wire into fabulous wearable art. The wire is recycled, light weight & never tarnishes.
Jillery has been featured in magazines, newspapers, stores & boutiques all over the globe. The press started right away. Jillery was spotted in the clubs… on us!
Here is me from a Woman's Wear Daily article on 'hot trends' circa 1990. That evening I was wearing a hefty amount of Jillery…but it is soooo light weight I could still dance the night away!When a big box retailer came calling some years ago, Jill declined the offer to "press out" her designs in a factory.
Instead every piece of Jillery is, has been & will be made by hand in her retail shop/studio NYC. Jill was handmade, before handmade was a movement.
