The Beauty of a Written Note

A stash of notes & cards from special people who have blessed my life.

Some are tied with ribbon from one person, others are in a box from a certain time & place.  All are treasured.

The beauty of a written note is only made the sweeter by our fast paced lives filled with opportunities to quickly send a smiley face, thumbs up or other short cut to communication.

With the option to text, the decision to take pen to paper is monumental.  As such, it is appreciated all the more.

I love that we can all communicate easily, effectively and with people we may never have come across in daily life via our phones & laptops.

I also love & appreciate seeing the handwriting of a friend on a paper envelope in my mailbox.

The anticipation of opening the envelope.  Then being greeted with the thoughtful words of a busy friend who took the time.  The time to slow down just for me.

If I could send you each a note in the mail this is what it would say...

Hello Dear Friend,

Just a note to say, I am feeling grateful that you are in my life. 

It is wonderful to be able to share our interests, creativity and laughter together.

Thank you for spending time with me.

On second thought, maybe I would take out the "just".  As taking the time to let someone know how you feel is never "just".

Whether a hello from afar, a thank you or wish for a special occasion, a hand written note will always be welcomed and appreciated.
